Default Any big guys on Dynas?

For you bigger guys (I'm talking 6'+ and 250lb+), how do you like your Dynas? Do you get cramped up at all riding long distances or do you have any issues at all? I'm going to have to trade my bike in this year or the next and have been thinking about going with either a Street Bob or a Wide Glide, but have never had the opportunity to ride one longer than about 50 miles, so I thought I would see how you guys like them.

I'm 6'2" 210lbs. 36" inseam. I ride a Wide Glide. I have mini apes and a Mustang Runaround solo seat that really gives me leg room and arm comfort.
I am biased, but convinced if you like a certain model, you will figure how to make it comfortable.

That's very true. The WG is one of my favorite bikes along side the Road King and the Fat Boy. I would love to have the Wide Glide, but have been a bit concerned that after 150-200 miles it would be uncomfortable. I guess I could always throw a different seat and set of bars on there.

Honestly, I'm only comfortable for 3-4 hours on anything. Including ultras and Goldwings and cars! Man do I enjoy stopping and stretching. oh, and looking at my Wide Glide. Lol!

6' 1", 280 pounds. I put the peg extender things on my bike and they did the trick. If I need to stretch my legs out, I just rest the backs of my legs on them instead of the bottom of the boot.

These things... http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...-peg-mount-kit

6 ft, 245, and after a while, I start to feel it in my lower back, but I attribute it more to spine surgery than the bike. I have forwards on it and it works for me, but like I said, after a while, I feel it. I haven't tried a backrest at all, but it might be something to look at in the future.

I think you would be fine with the Dyna, but obviously if your doing long trips your definitely going to want to set one up for touring, better seat, back rest, wind shield, forward controls & highway pegs, and something with ape bars, maybe even upgrade the rear shocks... the bigger Harleys come better suited for touring but if you want something that can switch from sporty ride to tour bike Dyna is a good bike..

the wide glide looks nice but it's definilty more of a sporty bike that would need all of the above to be a good tourer. , personally I think the new WG's feel too small, I love my 2003 wg, but they are totally different bikes than the new ones.. If I were to buy a new one and it had to be a dyna & looking for comfort I'd go with a street bob..

I spend most of my time on a Road King, but at 6' 250, my brother's Street Bob is just fine. I feel right comfy with the 18" apes.

I'm 6'2", 205 lbs and ride a fat Bon - I put on 3" forward extenders which helps with the legs on a long ride

I'm 6'3" and 295 pounds and I ride a Dyna with mid controls and have "0" comfort issues with it.
It had forward controls on it when I got it and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough.
I had a Heritage Sloptail and It was an uncomfortable poor handling boat anchor of a motorcycle...So I got rid of it too.

Lots of these guys here seem to be all crippled up and can't ride too long without having to stop by the chiropractors office.
Dyna's are fine for a big guy, unless you're a physical wreck.
