I just got my Lepera Biker Gel Barebones delivered.
As soon as I mounted it on my 2010 FXDWG, I noticed that the mounting plate (or whatever you call it) is very high in respect to the fixing hole.
As you may see in the pic below, the fixing plate is lifted around 0.5" from the fender.
Furthermore, the saddle seems bended too much in the back (not following the fender's shape) , causing the metal plate to be too high.
The model is a LGK001.
Any ideas guys?
Help!
Can you line it up and screw it down with no issue? If you can I would just do that and after riding on it for a bit should finish bending into proper shape.....
Furthermore- Have you contacted the manufacturer about this?
I remember the mounting tab on mine being the same way (high). I just bend it down slightly enough to start the bolt...then tightened it up. I can't say for sure if I had that seat gap before I tightened down the tab, so I would start there and see what it looks like after.
Don't worry about it. Just push it down and screw it in. It will mold itself around the fender.
I had same question 5 years ago. Still have the same seat and still install it using the same method, although I barely have to push it now. No problem.
I had the same thing with my BareBones when it first arrived. I'd ordered the BareBones and the pillion but they shipped as two separate orders, the saddle arrived first so I put it on the bike to do a test ride and had the same thing you're seeing, I pushed it down on to the fender and screwed it down. When the pillion arrived a few days later same thing again, with the seat and pillion mounted together I had to push down on the pillion to get everything aligned, now it hardly takes a push at all to put it into place...
