After seeing pics of a couple of bikes I went and got a Bad&G battery bag.
I've got a '99 Wide Glide. I drilled holes in the cover and mounted the bag, no problem.... until I tried to put the cover back on. Apparently there isn't enough clearance between the battery & the cover to allow for the bolt heads.
So, for those of us who are (obviously) mechanically challenged, can anyone clue me in on this? Do I need to reposition the battery? Does it require a specific battery cover.... or am I just f***ed?
I've got an 05 dyna, was thinking about doing the same thing. You're probably gonna some very slim bolts, maybe carriage bolts, so they don't stick out too far towards the battery.
I've been eyeballing a couple different battery bags like this, I came across these on ebay and then went to their site, I really like the look of these and I haven't seen a lot of bikes in my area with anything like it. I think it would be a great place to pack the small items, reg, ins cards, phone, peanut butter sandwich. Keep us posted how you make out with that bag, I have the original black battery cover I'd use case it doesn't work and I don't screw up the chrome one.
