For the DK coil relocation, does it require a certain tank lift amount? I've got an EFI sporty 1200 with a 4.5 gal tank. I know I've seen at least one or two other ones that said a coil reloc will require at least a 2" lift or whatever.

It is a little different for a Sporty. You do not have to go with the Tank Lift, you have a few different options. If you want the Ignition above the coil you can cut the plastic housing or go with the 2'' tank lift. However if you don't want the tank lift you could go with the flex-six (ignition relocation) option.

You can also look at the different options for your sporty at the link below:

I have the slighter clue on the seat. It is a harley seat and it is pretty comfy. 3-4hrs in the saddle is nothing for me and the wife. I will pull it off in the next few days and see if I can find any numbers on the bottom side.

Thanks DK. Yeah, I've looked through the options on the site, but didn't see anything about which configurations might make tank lifts necessary. I like a moderate tank lift look, but I haven't seen many tank lifts with the 4.5 gallon tank from people, so I'm not sure if the bulkier and rounder tank will look weird sitting up higher or not.

You could always check for clearance, this will help you to see if you like the look of the Tank Lift on the 4.5 gallon tank.

1. With your bike on the kickstand, take the bolt out of the front of the tank.

2. Loosen (do not remove) the bolt at the rear of your tank.

3. Take a towel, or something to that nature, that is soft and won’t damage any kind of paint, and roll it up.

4. Take this roll, and place it between the backbone of the bike and the tank. You can adjust the thickness of this roll to adjust the height between 1.5”, 2”, 2.5”, and 3”

5. Then, take the handlebars and turn them all the way to the left, then turn them all the way back to the right, this ensures that there are no clearance issues.

By doing this, you are not only able to make sure that you can install the tank lift with no fitment issues, but you can also see the height at which you would like your tank lift.

And also there are pictures in this youtube video of 4.5 gallon tanks.
