Alan, for the clutch I used the Barnett CF plates and Barnett HD spring. Not the +1 kit.
Research indicates that the cf plates wear the aluminum pressure plate quickly. So I used the 1st and last stock plates and the others were replaced with the cf plates. I read this technique over on HTT. This combo cuts down on the wear to the pressure plate and allows a better friction zone. Research indicates that the CF plates bite harder/faster.
All I can say it the clutch feels really good. Stock friction zone and no slip. I get no drag with the clutch pulled in at stop lights.
I was getting slip with the SE spring and stock clutch on my last (whimpy)build.
My goal with the clutch was to be able to use formula+
Next on the list was bandit if this didn't work.
The Barnett spring is definantly a harder pull. The muscles will get used to that quickly.
I'll give it a try unless strobe takes it from me. Happy where it's at, but promise you when I roast this motor the next one will be one wicked beast.
I'm all ready planning the next build also. I do real good at picking up parts for great prices and storing till I need them.
Besides we should always have a spare engine ready !

Amen! My plans for the next motor will be a minimum of a 124, ratio rockers, and S&S B2 heads + heck knows what else.
Freak'n never ends for us gear heads!!!!!!
Problem I have w/ the bandit clutch is how low it wants to run on fluid, that it wants ATF, and price has been jacked up to $550, other than that it's a badass setup.

I'm new on the Forum & can't PM yet. I have a 2015 FXDF on order (arrival 27 Jun). I'm placing a order withthe dealer for a massive accessory purchase tomorrow afternoon. Memphis Shades Bat Wing is on the menu.
I can't remember where, but think I read you were looking at messing with the attachment hardware. I'm thinking about using the HD Quick Release Hardware (forks are getting coated and I don't want to leave the MS hardware on if the Wing is off).
Do you have any info I can use?
Also, dealer is recommending that I paint it to match the bike (Vivid Black), as he felt the MS Wing doesn't look as good (although I can't see a difference in your photos) and will likely scratch up quite a bit.
How did yours match up to the stock paint and what's it looking like after three years?
you thinking the louvered baffle would have increased it some ? to bad some one wouldn't let you try one just to see the difference in performance. be interesting to know?
Just an update on this. I did pick up the louvered baffle from HD Bobber. Thanks again BTW.
My 107 build went to crap. Scored the cylinders. That's another story in itself.
Sooo it's not an apple to apple comparison switching to this baffle.
I downsized to SE 103 Pistons. Compression ~10.7
Had a set another set of heads done by ward performance. Very impressed with his work and facility !
No Dyno yet. Almost 1000 miles on this new setup. But there is a huge difference in torque. I like the sound way better with the louvered baffle. Nice and deep, not as loud. The perforated has a sharp note to it.
Butt dyno says way more torque off idle. The bike has never been this strong on the bottom end.

Sorry to hear bout your 107 and be interesting to see numbers on 107 w/ the two different baffles, but still interested to see your new numbers.
Good update, thanks! Sorry to hear about the 107" though, would be interested to hear the story. I keep thinking about trying the louvered baffle myself but with a dyno needed to redial it in, I keep thinking about other things too - so if I were to swap it would most likely not be an "apple to apple" comparison either.
Ward Performance is doing the new 126" Fuel Moto heads, nice!
