2011 Wide Glide Kick Stand Mod
Just a heads up from my past experience. When I first bought my bike I always felt that the bike stood up to straight up on the stand. Then when I lowered the rear of the bike the lean angle was even worst. I felt that the bike could tip if I had a flat or even a strong wind was blowing.
So I bought a after market kick stand and replaced. I was happy with the lean angle but the tab to get the stand down was to short. Also the stand length is shortened to achieve the better lean angle. It was a real pain in the *** to find the tab with my foot to place the stand down. Another thing that I did not like about the after market stand was that it was slightly thiner. The stock stand just looks beefier. So after that I decided to do the mod on my original stand. I cut the tab down just like recommended on a thread on this forum. Worked like a charm.
I now have the original longer tab on the bike and the stand length is back to original.
I hope this helps a forum member to decide on which way to go on this mod...
