This subject interests me also. I recently purchased a 2014 Wide glide and had Vance & Hines big radius pipes installed along with a screaming eagle air cleaner. I had the screaming eagle pro super tuner used to Dyno tune the bike at the dealer. The end result was a minimal gain in hp and a large decrease in mpg. If I had it to do over I would have just installed a V&H fuel pak instead of the Dyno tune. I'm curious about long term effects. Is my engine running cooler?...will it have better long term engine wear??? Overall I'm happy with how the bike runs but feel like it was a waste of money on the Dyno machine.
It sounds like you got a crappy tune. A dyno tune is only as good as the operator. Just because someone has a dyno and calls themselves a tuner is no guarantee. You might want to ask around and find a tuner with a good rep who really knows the super tuner. You'll get much better results than with a Fuelpak.
If you get a good dyno tune, you will never regret the $$ spent. I just rode 2 bikes that my dealership had for sale, all I could think about was how crappy the tune was...

Do you know if I should have such reduced mpg? I'll check the numbers next fill up but I know a fellow 2014 Dyna rider that gets about 40 more miles per tank. How can I tell if it's a poor quality tune?
Hard to compare what mpg 2 different riders get on 2 different bikes due to mods, riding style, weight, condition of air filter, etc. Especially if you haven't really calculated the actual mpg, just going on how much longer your buddy gets on a tank. Start with a full tank and get a real number.
There are lots of posts here from Dyna owners here that get results anywhere from 35 to 50 mpg, so there is no set answer.
Checking the plugs with an EFI bike is not always a good indication of tune but it can't hurt to look.
Do you have the dyno sheet from the dealer? You can post it here, might give a clue. The best way you you'll really know how well (or not) the bike is set up is to get it back on a dyno with a competent tuner.
