Im looking for a shop or someone or anything that can build this part for me. I cant find any local places that do this kind of work. All the people I speak with online are from Europe, I would like to have someone on stateside build this for me.
I dont want the speedo location I just want the cover it doesent even need to be painted. I would like it to pick up existing hardware. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very greatful. Thanks
Yea sorry about that I didnt do a good job with an explanation..lol.. so it is a dash cover panel. I have moved my speedo/ignition switch to where my horn was and fiberglassed the hole that was left by the speedo in the dash. I do not like how it looks, I think I can get a cleaner, more streamline look if I had something like what is in the pic. there are poeple that make this item like Rocket Bobs and Fred Kodlin, but they are located overseas and have long lead times. I would prefer to have someone stateside build. I am just not sure as to who I can get.
Unless some company here in the states makes them in multiple numbers I highly doubt anyone would be willing to make you a one-off piece. It wouldn't be worth their time to spend beaucoup hours fabricating one just to make a couple bucks selling it to you. But keep on looking.
Why not just buy it from Kodlin - $170 for a custom, low production part seems like a decent price, you'd pay much more for someone to fabricate a one-off copy.
tell everyone what bike you have, likely there is something available to do what you want already, maybe even in chrome.. although I never heard of relocating the speedo to the side of the motor, sounds like an odd thing to do on a Dyna.
Any custom shop that can do sheet metal fabrication can do that for you.
The next question is are you willing to pay for custom one off work?
Time is money.
The cost Kodin is asking is reasonable, a one of fabricated one would be double the cost at minimum.

Why not get rid of the fiberglass job you did by grinding it out. Take the dash and have someone weld you a piece of metal in the hole. Grind that smooth. Then bondo it smooth and paint.
Thanks for the guidence everyone its appreciated. I think I may just go with the Kodin it seems like getting someone to build a one off will cost me much more than getting it from Germany.
