anyone installed the wide tire kit themselves? Scale of one to ten how hard is it.

I did it myself...It's about a 2 out of 10...You get 2 round headed allen screws andreplacements for the metal struts inside the fender - these new struts just keep wire closer to fender so new tire won't hitit..(a little bit of hot glue will do it too)...
I would just try the tire and deal with clearance issues as they come up. The tire has a special narrow rim and won't take standard 180mm tires. Try seaching this as alot about this has been said lately....GOOD LUCK...!

 

You don't actualle need the kit. I had the 180 installed on mine without it. 3000 miles on the tire so far and it looks like I may get more than the stock tire.

 

It depends on what type of wide tire kit you are talking about a 180? a 240? a 300?They are all different.

The clearence depends on how the wire comes out of the turn signal - someone here put pics up of armored covers inside the fender on wires..WAY COOL !
