I have seen the post before and actually added my 2 cents but........ I did a little over 200 miles with the fuel pak yesterday and am not pleased. I have talked with the factory prior and they said I would experience some popping and burps. I said fine but..... I am getting some good backfiring...not popping, along with hesitation. Shifting from 1 -2 at times I get a gasp, loss of power and then she takes off??? Guess no 2 up for a bit. Just seems to be too rich. I thought I lost 20% on fuel efficency too until it said I gained 25% wtf????? I am running stock with a set of Python staggards and a ness big sucker (stage 1 I believe)
I have the Fuel Pak and have the same problems as you do. I had the 95" Kit installed and had it dynoed. The mechanic had problems finding a map for my setup but found one that was close. I sent an email to V&H and they replied that they just did a bike with my setup and had a new map. The problem is, my Fuel Pak is a version 10 and they are now up to version 12 for the settings to work. Had to send the Fuel Pak back to them to be upgraded to the correct version. I am waiting on it to arrive and then I am loading FP-0747 on it and hope that fixes the problems...
Shoot, I just got this and hope it was a latter version and not omething sitting on the shelf> How do you know what version it is??? I know I threw awy the box???I know she needs somedifferent settings but don't want to mess around with it nor do I want to lose the time returning it????
Mode 20 tells your version. I got alot of info from their website like install instructions and the settings for the map the V&H tech sent me. You can go to the website and put in your bike info and see if there is a map.
Am getting ready to leave and will check later but, they had my map and I installed it. That's my problem. There map for my set up isn't running right????
I am having serious popping between 1st and 2nd as well. I am curious if you even need a fuel management system with just the addition of exhaust and ac.
If I ever get my Fuel Pak back (coming byPony Expressfrom Kalifornia it seems)and installed, we will see. I know what it was doing before and hopefully after I load the new map that V&H said to load, if it runs like a raped ape, then I will believe in it! If not, time to go a new route!!!
Yeah, I get decel pops all the time, but have no problems on accelleration. It sounds to me like you need to plug in the correct values for all of the settings to match your pipes and air cleaner. I wish V&H would tell us what each of the settings controls so we could play around with the thing and tweak it where it needs to be.
