OK, I installed a new headlight on my 01 wideglide. Everything was great for several months. Recently I wanted to clean up the front by adding some chrome bolts and covers in place of the stock riser bolts. When I made the change, I capped off the ground wire coming off of the Cobra II headlight that I had previously added. The vendor told me the light would ground itself and didn't need to be wired. Things were fine for a while. Eventually my key indicator light started coming on from time to time. Long story short - now my left turn signal doesn't work. I hooked the grounding cable back up but still have no turn signal. I used TC's directions to check error codes and the code = 21 left output failure. Where do I go from here? I did try to erase the code but the left turn signal still doesn't work. I checked the bulbs already. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
1. I would look under the seat. Maybe during the headlight install and moving the harness around some plugs may have been loosend. 2. Then check all of the plugs in the turn signal circuit including the ones stuffed in the backbone. Good Luck

Electrical Gremlins are every where. I posted this in the elctrical section. but here it is again. I had a problem with my head light tripping the breaker on high beam. I had looked for months to find a short. Disassembled dash, Disassembled high beam switch, disassembled head light, replaced bulb, disassembled plugs, all the while using a volt/ohm meter checking every thing. I could not find a problem. I had given up to using only low beam. I rode my bike to an independent mechanic to take care of oil leaks in preparation of a 2 week road trip to the Smoky Mountains, but forgot to ask him to check the light. Because he is very experienced I thought he could help. When I went to pick up the bike I informed him about it and he said let's take a look. It would not trip the breaker at all. He said that who ever installed the oil pressure switch placed to much pipe sealant on the threads and was not grounding correctly and possibly this was causing the breaker to trip.He told me that on a motorcycle's electrical system that 1 item not grounding can cause problems with any other, especially a high amp usage item. I have ridden it about 130 miles since I picked up the bike on saturday and so far the high beam is still working. I believe you are on the right track by checking all of your grounds. I hope you find it.

Front and rear - no signal - right??
I'll guess if you testlight power to the switch itself,
you will find good power in and good power out.
Power out from the switch goes to the module.
That error code makes it sound like the failure is at the module
left turn output.
The module distributes the flashing action to the front rear and indicator.
Just guessing - bad module.

Yup, no lights in the front or the back. The only change I made was remove the ground cable coming from the headlight. It's back now. Is replacing the module pretty straight forward? Is it more complicated with the security system?
