I am doing a little research on the subect. I have not found mine yet, on a 05 superglide. The wife's 07 streetbob seems to dump out in front of the rear tire? I asked the dealer "what is this hose for" and they told me it was the fuel vent line. Just wondering if this is the place for a fuel vent/overfill line to be?

RE: Where does your fuel vent/overfill hose end?
dawg, how's the misses doing? I need to check where my vent tube is. That incident of hers got me wondering. I tend to top off but may need to reconsider that if the vent tube is directly in front to the rear wheel. Good luck and best wishes.
Yah mine is right in front of the rear tire. I bumped it with my hand cleaning the bike the other day and got a drop of gas on my hand. I thought it was leaking gas until my brain started working and realized it was just the vent.
OJ, The wife is doing ok, new bruises keep popping up every day so far.
so, back to the dealer yesterday with the misses and when we walk in, the same guy that told me the day b-4 that fuel could come out of the vent line, now flags us down and tells me "I was wrong, there is no way for gas to come out of that line". He went on to tell me it is only a vent and that there is a check valve up by the tank that no gas can get by. He then also tells me it could not happen on a FI bike and could only happen to a bike with a carb. This guy then will not talk to me anymore.
Went out to the bike with the service manager, who is a pretty decent type of person, and he said that it shouldn't leak fuel, but, didn't want to go into great detail.
Just want to find out, so it doesn't happen again or to somebody else.
We may be gulity of overfilling the bikes, (just got gas in town about 5 miles b-4 the accident)but I sure didn't think a overfill was a life or death type of issue?
I have a 92 Dyna and I overfilled it yesterday and fuel is dripping out of the front of the left bank of the tank. It looks like a sending unit wire hole for the gauge but I can't find any diagrams in my Clymer book or online. Is this normal or is this something that needs attention?
