Default Electric / lighting problems

So I lost all lights on my bike ..Brought it in to shop for repair They call me and say Come on down we wana show you something .. He tells me my Rear PM wheel is shimmed wrong and backwards ...I had lowered the bike with 11" shocks and went to a 180 and my wiring harness is shredded....
He tells me unless I put 12" shocks OR 160 back on the bike it will happen again ..I tell him people are running 200MM tires on dayns he says No you cant do that (OK)
So he is playing with the spacing on rear wheel and will put more tention in my shocks and hope for the best

As we all know, it is possible to run a 180 tire on the Dyna. However, between that and lowering the bike, we also know that we run the risk of rubbing the harness in the fender. For some reason HD put the harness right down the middle of the fender, knowing damn well that lowering or bottoming out runs a high risk of damaging the harness. My guess, to get peps to have a reason to spend more money. When I swapped my rear fender out originally from the sparto light fender to the bob fender and then again to the long fender, I got smarter then the company and ran the harness alone the corner of the fender where there is close to a 99.9% chance it will never rub. Here is a general drawing of what I am talking about. Doing this the biggest issues you might get are where the harness splits and goes to the strut holes. Hope it helps.

I have one of those harnesses too! HD, in it's infinite wisdom put the rear light harness right where it will get destroyed. Funny thing is, the Shop Manual exploded diagram shows the harness mounted on the right side of the fender. Gotta replace it. Run the new one to the right side. For extra clearance, I removed the rubber conduit, leaving just the smaller harness. RTV will hold it to the curve contour of the inner fender. Zip ties will hold it top the inside of the fender. It's gonna take some thinking, but work with what you have and check it every month to make sure it's still where you mounted it.
