Soap& water. Thorough dry job, then dress the tires, chrome clean the shiny parts, Windex the windshield and mirrors, and put leather dress on the seats and bags.
car wash liquid, warm water, hosue garden hose pressure (no high pressure). Usually simple green on motor and wheels. Dry off with....yeah I know, my leaf blower, neighbors think I'm nuts, but it works better than starting up, no water spots. Only wax it about 2X a year. I usually wash about every 2/3 weeks
I'm a recent convert from the "soap & water" faith to the "detail spray" faith.
I would never have tried it, were it not for someone talking to me while I had the garden hose in my hand. This fellow was particularly passionate about his bike (aren't we all) and he raved about Honda Spray Cleaner for a good 30 minutes while he watched me work. I thought he was nuts. But then I tried it, and I'm a bit nuts about it now too. I'll just spare everyone the 30 minutes of jabbering. Read some reviews on it, and try it if you so choose. I like it because it's cleaner, faster and cheaper than a bucket wash.
I use simple green 50/50 mix with water.I wet it down first then SG the whole thing. Don't spray to much on bearings, wait about 1 minute, rinse and blow off with clean shop vac (reverse hose).
Spray on S100 and hose off (HD bug remover where needed). Dry in two stages; first a natural chamois, follow with cheese cloth. Between washes, a quick once over with a feather duster works well.
