I had the dealer install the quiet baffle in the Python staggered duals
same as the V&H bigshots.Turns out the Pythons do not have a hole
in the heat shield so you have to remove shield every time you have to
replace packing. I am going back to the regular baffle but I think it was
tuned with the quiet baffle in. So I am asking if anyone has left the
quiet baffle in without the packing and ran it that way. Or if I have to
go back to the stock baffle do I have to have it retuned? Thanks
in advance for any help.
Did you install quiet baffles without packing, which would be strange? Or do u suspect it needs replacing? Anyways, pulling a heat shield is really not that big of a job.
The bike started sounding and running different over time
as the packing wore out. I don't want to pull heat shields off
every 6months. It was a different sound and some extra torque
but not enough to stay with that baffle. Going back to baffle that
came with pipes just not sure if I have to retune.
Unless your running on the drag strip,, the change is going to be so small with any option you describe a re-tune would gain little. I'm pretty sure your not going to change the air movement enough to make the system run too lean.
