Do the Dyna Models, specifically the Dyna Super Glide Custom, have known problems with them? Do certain years have annoying little issues that make owners regret their purchase?
I would like a Harley that requires little wrenching in between the required factory service internals. Something that I can ride for years to come without doing more than putting gas in the tank, changing the fluids, and swapping tires.
Do the Dyna models provide that?
Thanks guys!
I bought a 01 super glide six years ago with less that three thousand miles on it. I've put over forty thousand miles on it in just under six years with no real issues. Had the cam tensioners replaced at 25,000 miles. Routine maintenance and new tires as needed is all it had to do to it.
You'll have bagger guys in do rags and wolf t-shirts telling you you can't ride long distance on a Dyna.
People will ask you if it's a Sportster.
Guys with Softails will make a point of telling you how they test rode a Dyna and their Softail rides better.
You'll have to cancel your eharmony account cause you'll be swimming in hot chicks.
I know this is an old post and comment but I had to tell you I literally laughed my *** off when I read your comment. Classic!! 😂 I'm looking at a 2009 Dyna street Bob and wanted to know of any common issues they may have had. Anyways we'll done sir. Made my day. 👍🏻
This second one looks more like what I got, but mine doesn't cover the windshield and headlight. It just has elastic straps to hold it to the front turn signals, or crash bar, in my case, and then on the back over the rear turn signals, so it covers the tank and seat.
You can just search for "motorcycle half cover", and you should find plenty.
3 of my 4 Harleys are Dynas plus an ‘07 BD K9. Do I need an intervention? Naw. It’s cheaper therapy than a marriage counselor and a divorce lawyer.
I recently changed the battery on my ‘04 Dyna LoRider. It started right up and runs great as usual but the speedometer and tach don’t work. Don’t even light up or display.
Someone suggested it could be a dirty speed sensor? Any other sources of the problem?
Thanks
PS.
I guess AI isn’t all bad. Re- Googled prob and found more possibilities: had difficulty getting the battery back in so I’ll put my spectacles on this time when I check for loose connections and corrosion.
Still open to other options from anyone who may have solved the same problem.

Sounds like the acc fuse is out of order. If this fuse is out you will not have stoplight either. Check if you have 12v at the orange/white wire at the rear stoplight switch.

I had similar problems on my '98 after a DIY battery change. I reseated all the connectors under the seat and all is well.
