Yes, the DYNA bikes are great. I have a 2011 Dyna FXDC. Never an issue with the bike, just keep up with the recommended maintenance. Sadly I have it for sale here on Harley Forum classified. My loss will be someone gain.
I know mine is an older one, a 2001 lowrider with 40.000 miles, only thing to be done is upgraded the cam chain tensioners and front mount, not bad at all with all the problems the newer bikes have!! terry
The only complaints I've heard are "it vibrates". I've got two Dynas and one bagger, the best of two worlds. The 02 Super Glide took us to the Finger Lakes in N.Y. and back, yep you can tour.
So...here you go. 2006 fxdbi with 75,000 miles. ( see photo of hydraulic tensioner.) True, inner primary bearing failure ( double row bearing )...caused wear and tear on drive shaft.Upgraded to the single bearing superseeded (A) version. True, front motor mount fails, and I did mount a Predator ( highly recommended ). $1000 in the hole for this repair...but worth it.
On a second note, that hasnt been mentioned about 2006 dyna's....the drive shaft has been revised 3 times...(C). I was told there was a hardening issue with the steel ...anyway, got the new drive shaft as well.
75,000 miles Older double row bearing, fails. Newer single row bearing. Primary complaint was a high pitch "squeel" along with a "shiver" like vibration. That is, on and off type every few seconds. Love my Dyna...although the new 2020 lowrider S aint too shabby...
