Post Wide Glide Handlebars

Just garnering some opinions for different handlebars. Many used Wide Glides out there and a few I have my eye on have the short bars on them.

I don't mind replacing them although I would like to know everyone's preference for handlebars on a bike that will be used for around town and occasional 200 mile trips. 5'10" if you think that will make a difference.

Thank You in advance.

What ever handle bars are most comfortable to you, are going to be the best handle bars. You're basically looking to find a set of bars that fits you and the bike. My best advice is go into a dealer and set on any bike similar to yours with different bar set ups.

I'm 5'9" and personally I feel the stock "mini apes" on my street bob are the most comfortable bars I've ever had on a bike. I've been on bikes with buck horns, drag bars, and apes above your shoulders and nothing else feels as comfortable and yet still has great control over the bike.

I'm rocking 10" t-bars, I'm 6'1". My hands sit about and inch below my shoulders, or level when I put my feet over my forward controls sink down into the seat and just cruise lol

When I bought my '13 Wide Glide new off the floor last year I'd planned on 16" to 18" apes but I decided to experiment with some riser extensions on the stock bar/risers and I ended up liking the riding position so much I've kept it that way for a year. I do plan at this point on going to 16" apes this upcoming winter but I've really liked the change in riding position the 2" fat riser extensions from DK Custom gave me, the extensions move the bars up and back. With 2" extensions all stock cables and lines fit and it's a simple install and an inexpensive way to see where you want your riding position to actually be.

Not trying to hijack the thread but I too am looking for a different bar setup for my new to me FXD. The stock bars are too narrow for me. I am 5'9" with a 30" inseam. I am planning on moving mid controls to forwards but finding the right handlebar combo has proven difficult.

Can you post a pic of the "mini ape" bars from your street bob?

I'm with Tin on this ! He gave the same advice to me for my wife. She is 5' 7" and she loves the risers! Like he said easy install and great price.
