Ok, so I've had my wide glide for a few months now and I'm at the point where its time to start considering a different seat. I know that's a whole nother can of worms, so I figure I'd ask the experts.
I've heard a lot of good things about Mustang seats but thats about as far as I've gotten. At a glance, I like the vintage solo seat. I prefer the no frills classic look.
Is a seat going to make a huge difference? I ride everyday but only short trips during the week. Then a couple of hours at a time on the weekend.
I have the Mustang Runaround. It's small and clean. Really changed the bike's looks.
It's very comfortable to me. I've ridden as much as 300 miles at once so far. As long as you yourself are not a wide load... lol!
have had several seats, everyone is different, depends on the person, demo the harley seats first.easy way to see if anything fits for no cost, had a mustang with the backrest didn't work for me. tried a lepara a friend had and that fit me better. called them and talked about seats. told them what i liked about the seat i tried, and they suggested a seat that was a little more padded on the same base. fits me better than any other seat i tried. and if i have to replace it will buy the same seat.
I do a good bit of two up riding, so I'll def be keeping the passenger seat. I love the look of the runaround, but don't want to have to switch it out every time I have my old lady with me.
I've got a C&C solo on mine. I had a C&C solo on my Road Glide too. Much more comfy although not sure it makes a difference on short trips. If you only have short trips, buy what looks good.

I went with the mustang wide touring seat with the matching low profile passenger pillion. I think it still looks good and is very comfortable for me. Haven't tried any others besides stock and it's a risk because you don't know until you try. I did find out that if you buy direct from Mustang you have 10 days to give them a call and exchange the seat if you don't like it. Good luck.
