I've been doing a lot of research on this. From what I've found this on one of the areas that it seems you really get what you pay for. There are a lot of option depending on your budget, but for the best brightness along with the correct beam shape it sounds like nothing compares the the daymaker. There are some slightly brighter bulbs/led's out there, but there are sacrifices in beam shape and possible wiring issues. For a true bolt in swap, this seems to be one place that you should go through Harley. I put a Cree 5 3/4" headlight on my 02 Low Rider and I love it. 12 LEDs and the only thing I did was cut the stock headlight plug off and used spade connectors due to the heat sink on the back of the light was smashing the connectors making it not sit flush in the bucket. I paid $67 for it and for only having a low beam since it's only a 2 wire light I haven't had any issue with not being able to see at night. It actually drowns out a day maker on low beam.

Bike I just bought has the $735.00 HD leds. Road Glide. The difference is huge. I had a 6000k HID on my street glide. Last night I had a half dozen people flash their high beams at me. They were surprised I'm sure when I flipped to high beam. Would I pay that for them? Not likely. But I'm Damn glad he did.
If your getting flashed a lot when on low beam,, it's set too high.
Maybe your weight is different then his,, adjust the headlight,, it's not that hard.

From what I'm told I'm about 100 pounds lighter. And I weight 210. I'll look at it tomorrow night.
I've passed a few of the new touring bikes in my car on country roads. The daymaker is literally painful to look at. I'm honestly a little surprised they are legal. Maybe they were adjusted wrong. My IS really low though.
Alright. Thanks for all the input. I ended up pulling the trigger this morning and ordered a Daymaker from Manchester HD. $340 with shipping. Looking forward to actually seeing where I'm going at night!
