It was still there from your last oiling. Take my word for it, losing a few drops at a time. Mine would have kept going for weeks had I not pulled it and found it wet on the back.

Happy that's all it was!

Thanks guys. I'm using the aerosol spray. The wife has the HD stage 1 filter which is only oiled but washable. Is there an option like that for me? I'd gladly use an oil free filter - this is getting annoying.

Wrap a clean paper towel around it and let it wick some of the excess oil out. Done.

Reindeer, interesting read - but, my filter isn't just gauze around the perimeter, but also in the center - all those filters listed (I just looked briefly) wouldn't provide any filtration (like for the air passing past the RSD logo).

Now maybe the one with the plate on the front would work, but then I'd see that plate because my cover is spoked w/ a pretty decent sized mesh screen. I'll look some more though in case they do have it.

What? My buddy down the road has this exact AC. I think you have just over oiled it. I have even cleaned re-oiled his filter. Never a problem.

I'd like to update this. The other night the bike did its thing where she won't fire right up when hot. Turned over a few times, coughed out the intake as I let my thumb off the button...K&N oil (or maybe some fuel too?) all over my pipes. I found the culprit. Maybe it was over oiled to start but it was doing fine til it coughed.
