I desperately want a Mustang Fastback for my 04 FXDL. Mustang doesn't officially make a fastback for the 04-05 year range. I like that the fastback sits you further back but isnt as slim as some other seat makers (I've got a 34-36" inseam) Has anyone tried a 06 and up or 03 and earlier seat on the 04-05 bikes? I could live with some cosmetic issues like a slight gap behind the tank etc.
Mustang most certainly did make a Fastback for the '04 FXDL because I've got one on mine. You can see it in my other posts. I bought the seat about three years ago and got a great deal ($208) on it from some retailer on the internet since it was being discontinued. Sorry, you can't buy it from me, it's a terrific seat. Maybe give Mustang a call or keep searching? By the way, their part number for the seat was 75143.
A viable alternative is to find a Lepera Daytona for an '04-05. Very similar seats as I had one on an XL1200R. I would have bought another for the FXDL but I found the Mustang cheaper.
