Howdy y'all,
I have an 06 street Bob with SE stage 1 intake, Samson pipes, Vance and Hines fuel pak, progressive shocks.
I went out riding a few days ago and the bike began making some new noises. You can hear in the videos the metallic chirp coming from around the starter. I have no idea if it is the starter but that seems to be the point of origin.
The bike still shifts normal, starts normal, and is fine in all other respects... It just sounds like a box of loose bolts coming down the road.
It chatters most at startup and does it intermittently at operating temp.
I know better than to take it in saying "I don't know what's wrong it sounds funny." Just want some opinions here. There are no loose bolts that I can see and no FOD.
I topped off the turn signal fluid and lubed the muffler tips, but no resolution was found.

After probing around with a stethoscope, I found it was my exhaust heat shields. I have Samson BG3 pipes and found this gem toward the tailpipe. There is another broken weld up towards the flange too. Now to find someone who will weld aluminum... guess I wont ride this weekend.
Samson used to make good quality pipes . Those babies ain't cheap ! If ya bought em new I'd give a call & or e-mail them your photo's . That's a damn nice lookin scooter ya got there . Real clean , sharp . Hell I'd probably ride it anyway just for the weekend .
Good luck .
Topped off the turn signal fluid & lubed the muffler tips? ALL RIGHT! Maybe you're short some french fries from your full Happy Meal. Ya gotta expect some Smarta** comments with that nonsense.
