From the guys I have run across, my local chapters come off as too serious and concerned with image. I have no desire to deal with the hierarchy that exsists in these set ups and the patches really don't make me any cooler.
I don't dig group riding, but if you were into that kind of thing I can see how it could be a benefit. I got a year with my new bike, and might go to that rally in Knoxville.

You must be a HOG member to join your local HD dealer chapter. Then you get 10% parts from them. Is worth it if you like riding in groups. The 10% don't do much as some online HD dealers offer 20% with no membership requirements.
