new here But i just got a batwing installed with the 6 1/2 spoiler on my 08 dyne fxd. i put this on thinking it would help with the wind on longer rides but it seems to make it worse. the wind coming up the forks makes buffeting on the helmet bad. anyone else had this and what may be a cure. thanks for any help.
I have the 9" curved windshield and that takes care of most of the buffeting for me. But, you might have to add some lowers on the bottom of fairing or the on forks. The three little holes on each side of the batwing are for lowers. Check the Memphis Shades site for part numbers.
I know you're talking about a full fairing. But guys with quarter fairing have had the same problem with wind coming from underneath. So these threads might help.
I have the Memphis Shade Batwing on my 08 FXD and I don't seem to have any problems. Yea a little wind coming up from around the fork area but I don't pay any attention to it.

I tried two different windshields and the "wings" on the fairing and nothing helped with the buffeting. The "lowers" on the forks made it acceptable.
I had the same problem, and I used the 3 different windshield heights. It was so bad that I didn't get 1 mile before turning around. I boxed it right up and shipped it all back to Revzilla. They were awesome and refunded 95% of the cost.
I've had several different sized Harley Compact Windshields with Quick Disconnect brackets on two different bikes with different angles and never solved the buffeting.
I've switched to a JD Customs T-Sport fairing which works much better. They also make a batwing but I have no experience with it.
If you have 39mm forks I'll sell you a HD setup with quick disconnects and two different sized windshields (15" & 17") for $300 if you want to try it.
Sending back for a credit. Anyone had better luck with the Harley quick connect not buffeting so bad?
The terrible buffeting with the quik connect is what made me try the MS in the first place. Which as I stated before was terrible until I tried the lowers. Now it is acceptable.
