All great advice. Went to the local hardware store and found what I needed. I believe the tools I have are up to par. Definitely not snap on but not Chinese either. I have a 2011 street Bob I very recently purchased. The previous owner has done some work on it so that could have possibly caused the damage to the screw. But regardless I took care of the problem. Thanks.
Gotta go back and look for some hardware for these new mirrors I just got.

Most of these motorcycle nut's-n-bolts aren't anything special except for the marked up price a dealer put's on'm. Some are hardened, so it's good to ask.
It is a good idea to get or find a manual for/with torque spec's, and a couple of Torque wrenches, Inch pound and Foot pound, a lot of the stuff is torqued only to inch pounds.
Over tightening/stripping is very common among`st us shade tree mechanics. And can be worse when it's a second hand bike bought from a shade tree mechanic!
Look at Pawn shops for tools, many times things can be found for pennies on the dollar. I got both of my Torque wrenches for about $20 each.
So I've managed to strip the t47 torx screw closest to seat holing the rear fender on the strut. I have the quick detach on the back for a 2up sissy bar.
Where can I order a new torx bolt to replace the one I stripped. I managed to get the bolt out btw. Thanks
Replace with button head allen screws from a local hardware store.....i slowly got rid of every torx screw on my bike. They are all now button heads or regular allen screws garde 5 or grade 8
