I have been wanting mid pegs/controls fer a spell now. Tried a couple of times but never could get the shifter to work right. Found the problem today. As I was tired of either hurting or not riding the Dyna. Today I decided to make em work or i was going to make my own. Well it was simple to fix. The mid control shifter arm was too long and hit the engine case so it would not go in gear. I cut a 3/8 inch off the end and tapped it a 1/2 inch farther back.
Shifts great now. Dont know why I didnt catch it the ladt few times I tried.
i can ride with no pain now. Forwards puts my left leg straight which pinches a nerve in my knee. The knee caught a SKS round in the knee cap causing me to have 9 surgery's to save my leg.
I'm good now. I have gone to trikes mostly but I just won't give up all my 2 whee bikes. Sure feels good. I'm telling ya.
Why was it too long? If they are stock controls and your using a stock motor and stock primary you shouldn't need to cut anything unless you bought the wrong shifter linkage
That's why it took 3 tries to get them to work. I got the mids from the guy I bought the bike from. Who said they came off of the bike.
The arm that the linkage would hit the engine case when screwed all the way in. Could not screw them out at all. I had them on before but could not get it to go in first gear becuse it hit the case.
It still has me scratching me head as to why.
