Previously owned 1450 intruder and most recently 1500 Vulcan, ....finally I have graduated to a 1999 wide glide !! ...my question is the bike has about 22k. I've read about replacing gear drive cams ?
Also, is there any upgrades you guys recommend ? I've heard of guys upgrading to S&S carbs, single fire ignition and coil? And I'm sure the list could keep going. I'm not a hard driver and don't really go out of state (yet).
Leave it alone until YOU decide that you need more of this or that. If you then want more torque, rpms, handling, etc. then you can ask about specifics. Get used to your new ride before you decide to do anything. DO make sure you have good tires (wear wise) and brake pads, and go from there!
Welcome to the forum.
If there's something about the way the bike runs that you feel needs improvement get into a little more detail. If not, just ride the hell out of it.
But if you just want to do upgrades, like you said, the sky's the limit.
Yeah...you guys are right. I should probably ride it first (actually picking up tmrw) I just didn't want something going out cuz of preventative maintenance ..at around the 20k mark.
Thanks again for input. !
