Default 2006 Dyna superglide electrical problem

Taking it to the dealer this afternoon. After riding for a bit if I try to use the left blinker, the "security light" little red key on the speedo lights up and the blinker does not work - intermittant and everything else stays working just fine.

Anybody else?

I just learned that the fuse box on my 04 Superglide allows water to corrode the fuses. I will bet that you have a fuse that is either blown, corroded or loose.

I had a similiar problem on my lowrider. It ended up being some shorted wires under the back fender from when I had the tail lights relocated. Dealer fixed it up real quick and for free since they did the relocation.

Yes I had the exact same problem.
The wires for the turn signal were rubbing on the rear tire and the insulation
wore thru and shorted on the fender.

I wrapped the wires with black electrical tape and it started to work OK but
they had to clear the error at the dealer for the securtiy light to stay off properly.

I asked the dealer to replace the wires but have not gotten reply from them yet.

Go back to the dealer and be polite but persistent.

Well I picked it up from the dealer yesterday afternoon and sure enough as I was leaving the parking lot I had the same problem. Thing that gets me is they showed me the work order and told me they replaced some pinched wires...

I was a bit frustrated, we were headed back to the dealer for a "Bike buyers party" that night and they were going to have people from each department there to give a talk about how good they are and so on.

So I brought up the issue, politely but firmly suggested that they listen to the customer - I had stated that they would have to road test it to see the problem and they had not done that.

After the "party" I had them out looking at my bike, I am keeping it for the weekend but will bring it back to them on Monday, with some electrical tape over the wires under the back fender - WillieC - you hit the nail on the head.

Last night after reading ******* post I checked out the wires to the rear signals and imagine this - they were rubbed raw from the back tire....

Thanks guys
