Replacement Speedometer for '96 FXDL
Hi All,
I never imagined it would be so difficult to find a replacement speedometer! My odometer when out some time ago, now the speedo stopped working all together, including the turn signal auto cancel.
I found that the only application for this series gauge was exclusive to FXDL's from '96 to '98.. which makes it hard to find one on EBAY. The only aftermarket I could find is a Digital Dakota, but then I would have to change out the tank strip and eliminate the tach in the current dual gauge set up.
Looking for advice, suggestions or a point in the right direction. All the gauge repair places I called wont touch it..

I am probably way off on this but you could continue to use your stock tach and set the Dakota Digital to odometer or one of the other functions. I put a Dakota digital on my 07 FXD and it was truly plug and play, i love it. I am not familiar with the tank mounts though so I am probably wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion Dale.. That's a good idea and I thought about that, but I'm not sure how two very different looking gauges sitting right next to each other on the tank dash might look. I wish Dakota Digital made a tach only, then I'd be set with a matching pair! Plug and play is a big benefit.
I actually called HD customer support yesterday.. they did nation wide inventory searches for the 67025-96(A,B,C) speedo and there are none! Found one on Ebay.. it's not been tested, no idea if it works or what the odo reading is, it's expensive and the seller wont accept returns!
I called about 8 gauge/speedometer repair place and no one will touch an HD speedometer. I even called the OEM manufacturer (Faria). What should be a simple thing has turned into huge pile of crap.
