I'm going to have to have a windshield to ride the next few months until my neck and shoulders gain enough strength to withstand the wind, but not sure which to get.
I had the standard height on my 06 super glide for the winter months, and hated it. Once I lowered the rear and put the 2 over tubes on the front, I found myself looking through the windshield instead of over it. I was wondering if anybody knew the exact height difference between the two, or had the low profile on the wide glide, and could tell me how much of the wind it blocks from your face. If it's too low, I'm afraid of actually multiplying the force on my face by getting it off the top of the windshield. Don't need that, but don't want to be looking through one instead of over it either.
i've got the 16" memphis slim on my sb ... at full adjustment it neatly shoots the bugs onto the top of my helmet but not in my eyes and i still look over the top ... i think anything shorter will be too low for you even with lower bars.
Thank-you for your experienced insight as to the pro's and con's of having a windshield. I'm sure you have impressed others out here as much as you did me with such a thoughtful comment....
Now go get on your scoot, ride your 100 miles, and think you went touring...
On your wideglide, does that low profile windshield throw the air right in your face, or is it tall enough to throw it over your head???
How tall are you? and, is that sixteen inches measured from the top of the headlight??? Or from the bottom of the windshield where it ends in that curve over the headlight??

Thanks for your time.
Now that we are talking Memphis shades, I'll chime in - I had a 13" (low profile) Memphis Fats on my bike for about 5 minutes - wow did it suck; pretty much directed the wind blast right into my face, lifted my helmet. etc. Fourtunately, J&P allowed me to exchange for the 17" Fats; very nice; tip of the shield is even with the bridge of my nose. I'm 6'3" and have a Low Rider seat on my FXDBI - hope this helps...
oh yeah - 007dyna, you forgot POSER, RUB, *****- I see you hide your profile...
