My question is do I need to relocate the rear turn signals or could I fit them in between the bag and the fender strut if I remove the signal stem and just bolt them directly to the strut in the original bolt holes?
I have those bags on my 09 super glide, and Yes, you have to move the turn signals.
The kit comes with different inside brackets that have both ends threaded so that the bags bolt on from the inside of the bag front and back. The existing brackets (left/right) have only the front threaded,, the back is a blank hole for a bolt that goes through and threads into the turn signal itself.
I used the same set up they have in the stock photo, a different license plate holder/turn signal mount. Easy install. Got mine on ebay for $50. Don't cut any wires!! Remove the tail light and the turn signals will un-plug there and the jack will feed through the holes.

I like the price and the looks. Did you have to drill a hole in the fender to run the wires through?
Nope, all that's needed are the holes for the existing factory plate mount.
Now that's an over-size tire too (180/60) so I had it up on a jack and the shocks removed to get at all that stuff, It was easy that way. I've seen guy's grumble because it's a tight space to work in.
Get ahold of me if/when you get the bags and/or run into any troubles, I might have a tip or two for ya.

Just did my 2011 FXDC last weekend with the Harley Lay back mount. Easy peazy except for some chewed up wires under the fender from the PO or a previous mechanic's work. Where the license plate bracket attached with 3 screws there was also a 4th hole in the fender plugged with a rubber grommet for the wires to be run through. Look carefully and you will see it.
