A friend has what he called a 1995 Lowboy he is offering to sell me. First off, what exactly is it and where can I find specs on it (engine size etc) and more info about it? He sent me a not so clear picture and the front end looks a little raked and rear shocks look like they are layed over towards the front of the bike more than normal but it is stock. Bike has around 28k on it and it looks to be in really nice shape. Clean and crisp. Front rim is spoked, rear is like a disc. forward controls
What is reliability and what might a general good price be for it?
Where can I find good accessories for it?
I am really thinking about buying it for my wife and I to ride while also working on customizing it to my early years fantasy of a customized semi-chopper.
Gonna guess Low Rider too. '95 is going to be an evo 80" motor. Could be a great bike. They're going for around $6k out here. Sometimes a bit more if its in fantastic shape, or less on occasion. Parts should be around. Stock accessories were pretty basic from HD, but anything can be "customized". Depends what your fantasy is.
I guess my fantasy would be a lot of power from motor, mini apes, wide rear tire, wild paint, reliable and not tons of money to get there !@!! LOL
Can someone post a pic of a stock one on right side of bike and I can tell if its the same? I cannot get the pic he sent me to be able to post here very easily. texted to me on an old phone.
If your friends does NOT have the square battery box cover, but instead a triangle shaped side panel...it is an FXR Low Rider ('94 or earlier)...different animal.
All your plans should work. Not sure how wide the rear can go without frame changes though...wasn't really a thing back then. The Evo will serve you well. Reliable and powerful with plenty of upgrade paths...
Since he can see the shocks we're going to have to assume its a Dyna Low rider...not a Softail. Plus the Bad Boy had that nifty springer front end he would have mentioned. Think he got the "Low" right and the "boy" wrong...
