I want to do the same thing but it's pricey from the dealer. I was quoted 1k for parts and 1k for the labor.

I hope this helps I was looking all over for pricing and couldn't find anything.

Parts:
Control cable kit $454
Transmission side gasket $5.99
Gasket $.99
DOT 4 brake fluid $7.95
Polyurethane riser isolat $39.95
1+ formula+ $8.49
Headlamp shell assy $193.86
Brake/throttle clip $5.99
MX T-Bar 12" gloss black $269.99
Labor 9.5hrs $1044.91

New here, First post.

Good first post thanks for the detailed breakdown. Now you have seen how dealers RIP YOU OFF.

So how most guys would do it if they wanted to go 12" or 14":

Ebay a used 2006-2015 Street Bob clutch cable $60

Ebay a used bottom mount Dyna headlight bucket and mount. $80

Buy some 12/14 whatever T-Bars, again the Ebay knockoff or some fancy name brand. $200

Dot 4 fluid from Pep Boys or wherever. $5

Drain the trans fluid out into a clean container, then re-use it. Its a HD transmission, not a Bugatti Veyron power steering pump. $0

Trans cover gasket? Re-Use, they are always intact 99.9% of the time. $0

Riser bushings, if you must then yes buy some fancy ones. Not needed really if bike is new. $35

Front Brake lines: Buy individual fittings and lines from JP Cycles or wherever. You will need 3 90* elbows, a brake "T", and three lines. Buy the fittings, mount. Then measure the correct length for the lines, order three correct length braided or black coated lines after you have measured. $140

Black Tyraps $5

= $525.00

It takes all of maybe 3 hours to do the job.

Most aggravating part is fishing wires. Other than that it's a quick job. I don't know about the harness on the new LRs, but my fatbob had pleeeenty of length for 14" west coast's when I ran them. No extensions needed. Doesn't hurt to buy the kit just in case, but keep the reciept.

Consider the indies near you as well. There are three near you that would probably be cheaper than the dealer. Shoot me a pm if you have any questions.

I might have to take you up on that.

I'll PM you when I get access. The site requires a 5 day wait to prevent spam.

If you are interested in the Sportster/MX style bar, I have a set Nightster bars hanging up in the garage with nothing to do. For risers check out Drag Specialties, all over ebay and come in 6,8, and 10 or Big Als Cycles riser bushing combo, you could save a few buck and pick em up.

Good looking out, I think I'm going to go with the west coast Mx bars in chrome. Which is the only color not offered on eBay. The black is up for $175 (link for anyone looking for these)

Feileod, I will PM you soon for some info on local indies.
