I'll be going with Fueling 543's when I can afford to do cams. (my truck is currently getting a transmission.) Fueling has great descriptions of their cams on their website, the 543 fits my needs/wants nicely. Great all around cam for cruising with a good top end while still maintaining strong low end TQ.
They all claim the same thing !
Except for the 255 which, with your idle set at 1000 rpm, allows you to not touch the throttle till you reach 6th gear.
I'm happy with the 583's; also very happy with the E-Z start feature. Never was a fan of the .030 head gasket trick...I know it work's but everything else that attaches to the head has to move that 30 thou also
Looking at 551's for the wifes stg 1 96 inch
No more engine noise noticed; RB Racing black hole 2-1 pipe with a vortex cone in the end. Can make a "clack" on shutdown
"It would be cool to see greater discussion on specs, overlap, duration, their significance and true life action rather than just opinion of personal experience.Don't get me wrong, personal experience and opinion is valuable, but backed up by facts make it more plausible"
That's why I included my dyno sheet...the only numbers that matter in the end
I am getting my 204 cams fitted this Tuesday, I have also bought the heavy duty clutch spring. Looking forward to Tuesday afternoon when I get the bike back.

Not quite correct, stock is 0.045" so going to a 0.030" head gasket is only 0.015" difference and everything bolts up fine

Correct; thanks...I'm thinking more of when heads on a 100hp XL I had built were decked; wrench cracked a 44CV manifold trying to get it back on...would never happen with just a .015 gasket change
