Default T bar

Yea I currently have 12" and they are really comfortable but they aren't aggressive looking enough. I love the apes that come to a sharp point at the handles and come down. I'm starting to think 14" are the way to go. I have mid controls with hi way pegs so it should be good. Thx guys

Well I do have these on my little mini bike(ride around rally drunk machine) but they are 7/8 in. Check EBay often for these and you can find at a decent price.

I would start with 14", if you find they are shorter then you want, you can get risers/spacers to lift them up more or just get new bars and sell the one you have. If you plan on riding a good amount of distance at higher speeds, I would also recommend a detach shield to keep fatigue down. A good way to figure out bar height with your shorter bars is to stack fist over fist on the bars/grips. each fist is roughly 2" of rise, also do this with the bars a little loose so you can figure a good angle too, 14" angled towards you is lower then away from you.

Here are Fred Kodlin Bonanza II's. They are the tall narrow's at around 16" tall at the peak.

Take into account whatever handlebar height laws may be in place where you live.

I'm built like you, but only 5'7" & my 14" Burly narrows fit me the same. Very comfortable. I don't do much high-speed slabbin', but never noticed the wind being a problem.

If I am not mistaken, the stock mini apes are actually shorter than 12". Well, at least my 2015 street bob apes were... I think overall rise was about 11, with and end rise of about 8".

Do you plan on rolling the new bars forward? If so, I think this will change how high you will want your new bars. I have 10" Todd's Strip Bars on my ride, and I am 5'11". Very comfortable, and the decrease in pullback, along with rolling them forward made them feel taller. With basically all of the Todd's bars, the overall height is 1" taller than the description... 10"= 11". 12"=13.

You can also try the stick and string method to measure how tall and you want you bars. Keep in mind, your hand position will drop due to end rise being lower.

I am very happy with the 10" Todd's, with my hands just below my shoulders. You might want to consider the 12" version. With the way Todd's are bent, that aggressive look you like seems to increase with the height, but so does the width.

Be sure to drop a picture in here once you get the swap completed.

I'm 6' and I've got the stock mini apes on my 11 SB with an additional 2" riser extensions. Fits me about perfect. I don't have a wimpshield but I don't notice much adverse effects of the wind. If I'm rolling along at 90 - 95 mph it kinda sucks, but it does even if I put my arms down. Notice that mostly with my nugget so I don't think bars would make a difference on that.
