The stock bias ply tires that come with the Fat Bob suck. I run oversize Avon radials on mine & love them. Went from a 180 to a 200 on the rear. For the front went from a 130 to 150. Bike handles so much better. Metzler, Pirelli & Michellian also makes tires for the FB too. The only thing I don't like about the new FB is the stripe on the tank & the rear fender.
You can't go wrong with a Low Rider either. I just don't know if you will have the same option of tire choices. Maybe others folks can add their experience about the LR.

I have a 14 Fat Bob and love it. the bike is so fun to ride and handles very well. I also don't like the stripe on the tank or the rear fender. I took care of the fender for now with a 13 fender. When the paint on my bike is used a little more I will paint the bike to my liking with tank emblems.

I wanted the Fat Bob since it came out, because of the big front tire and mainly, the dual front discs.
I never felt comfortable hitting the corners hard on the Victory Vegas, with the 90 pizza cutter on the front, like the DWG, so the 130 is nice and beefy. Got an '09 recently with around 4000 miles and love riding it, when it's not freakin raining....

But I am glad to see others using a different tire on the front, as I don't like the "adventure bike knobby" tread pattern either.

I was going to go to something like the Bridgestone exedra's as a combo, eventually, when I ride enough to wear the stock ones out, someday...

Personally I love the fat front tire.I was attracted to the Sporty 48 for that reason but this is just so much more bike than the 48.....103 inches for example! The paint is what first caught my eye! I LOVE the burnt amber!

I have had my MC license for 31 years now. The last 15 years have been on HDs as I finally started making decent money. My '13 Fatbob is my 4th HD (2nd Dyna). 12K miles in and it is by far my favorite bike to date.

The stock tires suck IMHO. I bought a 2012 with 1800 miles on it last fall, now has 8500 and I can't wait for the tires to wear out, then Avons. The stockers just feel like they lose grip when cornering. Also replaced the funky headlight with a fatboy light. If you buy the used one, you'll have money left for fun stuff. A set of cams and a good header really wakes the 103 up.

I traded in my sportster on my Fatbob. I looked at Wide Glides, Low Riders, etc. It's all personal. I wanted an aggressive bike that kicked butt! The foward controls, dual front brakes, and drag bars, had me sold. My HD salesman made a good point, stating that if you are looking for a flashy Harley for Friday night bike runs the Fat bob is not the bike for you. But if you are looking for a reliable, high performance, no nonsense Harley made for the individual and not for the biker masses go for the Fat bob!!!

Back in the 70's, I was wanting something a little more suited to highway miles than my BSA 650. Loved the looks, sound and feel of the FLH S, but compared to the new Gold Wing it was a dog on the highway. Fast forward to 2012 and my favorite dealer gets a low mile 08 FXDF in with dealer installed 103. Bought it, hopped on and rode to Sturgis and back, then sold my 01 FXDXT. Still happily travelling with it; it's as close to the FLH S I always wanted (about the same weight, BTW) but a far, far better bike.
