I had spongy brakes on my '11 FXDB. Replaced with EBC sintered pads. Huge improvement. Will be doing the same with my S. Cheap mod, good results.
It would seem that the pads would change the initial bite, but sponginess a function of maybe needing bled or the lines flexing some. But I will probably do both. I'll look into EBC, used them on my cars before.
The best Harley brakes I ever had was on an R model VRod, loved that bike until I had some electrical issues the dealer couldn't find. Would like to duplicate its brakes on the Low S.
Getting a little closer... Unfortunately black braided brake lines are on BO until 5/10. So I'll be Rollin with stainless for a month. Which is ok. Cause it's going straight to the shop for a motor build and dyno tune....
Do you have any part numbers for those brake lines? Looking to have them installed on my bike at the first service.
so unfortunately i need to set up my low rider s for a passenger.. any ideas as far as pegs and seat?
My dealer let me swap over my LePera Daytona 2up from my FXDB....it doesn't have quite the low profile of a Daytona Sport or C&C Fastback (both popular on Dynas), but the rider's position is the same as those and the extra bit of passenger padding means I don't listen to any bitching.
Used peg brackets can be hard to find used because nobody takes them off once they're on the bike...pegs are personal preference.
Your right, bought the pillion 51404. Hope it is compliant as I bought it 2 month ago!
