FXDWG Parts interchange

Can anyone recommend a good source for parts interchange for the wide glides? I'm basically curious which years parts are interchangable and I need a few things. (considering the seat) I want a spare inner primary cover, I need a fuel gauge, other stupid little things. Thanks in advance!

man i have a wide, and its impossible to find even parts for it, only 04 and 05 seats will work, and they have to be wg specific, it sucks now i hear they are discountinuing the wd, so it will be even harder

It really depends on what specific part you ar looking for. I don't know of a source for cross referencing... you just mainly have to study the catalogs... Harley, J&P, Dennis Kirk, Jireh, they're all free for the asking.

The seats are 91-95, 96-03, 04-05, and 06-07. The inner primary will probably interchange with any big twin back to the early Evo days. Fuel guages are pretty standard among models as well. That's the beauty of Harley stuff... a LOT of the parts on all of the models are interchangable. Get some catalogs and read the fitment specs for parts that you are interested in.

Many parts can be made to fit with a little effort... like there's a guy on this site with a 2005 Low Rider seat on his 2006 Bob. The front mount is the same. You just have to fiddle with the rear mount. You could put a '96 seat on a 2005 if you were willing to spot weld a little bracket on the frame behind the tank. It's easy to make a Softail tank fit anything you want to put it on. Etc., etc.
