I'm a LowRider guy myself when it comes to Dynas, but you are the one that need to choose. Earlier LowRider had a different rake, but I believe the 08s will be the same 29*. - Forward controls - same engine?
If the rake is the same and both have forward control, I can do a hell of a lot of mods for $2K.

Same rake, both need forward controls. But if the Low Rider handles better (rather then spending $ making the SG handle like the Low), I would just rather spend the $2k.
If there was zero difference between the two there would be much less of a decision process. Info like this is invaluable! Now I really have to lean towards the Low Rider.
The cost is not as much of a factor; I would rather get a bike that I will ride for a years to come.
The extra couple degrees of rake is the main reason that I bought a Wide Glide and turned it into an FXDX, it handles much better at high speed on the highway than the FXDX or standard Super Glide does and loses nothing in cornering and low speed handling.

I started out with this....
.....and turned it into this.
That's why the Harley world is a cool place. I would have been in my shop converting the after to the before. Doesn't make either right or wrong just different.
I liked the Dynas and went with an 08 Low Rider. Love the double guages and rounded rear fender. Mine had 2,900 miles and I paid 8500 on CL in october. It was 100% stock.

Oh yeah....Most of the Wide Glide guys hate what I did with it.
But I made a lot of money selling all the take off stuff, and it sold quick!

Bike 2: 2008 HD Low Rider. 41k miles and near mint (someone really loved this one). Great color and paint is amazing. V&H exhaust.
That's what I was worried about. $9k for 41k miles. Think I will look around more for a less expensive FXDL unless I can get it at a stupid cheap price.
The Low Rider is a much better handling bike than the Super Glide (I have both). They are 98% the same parts but like Chimps which share 98% of genes with humans there is a world of difference in those 2 per cent.
The better handling especially above 80 mph is in the rake and trail of the front suspension. Got ride of the Road Glide and have the Low Rider, Fat Bob and a Street Bob. All three of those are great Dyna's to have.
But just get the one that speaks to you.
At first I couldn't figure out why you would think they handle better, totally forgot about the difference in rake.

According to Harley's literature, the 08 Low Rider has a 30.5 degree rake.
