Default Torn between 2 Dynas

I've lurked these boards for a while now, but I am torn between 2 bikes and I don't know where else to turn so I need your help! I have had Dynas in the past and loved them. Sold my bike a few years back due to the loss of a job. 1.5 years ago I picked up a 2004 Sporster and looking to move back to the Dynas.

Bike 1: 2008 HD Super Glide Custom. 17k miles and great shape. Not a fan of spokes but otherwise great bike. Stock exhaust (meh). I might change the exhaust, maybe change out the rims

Just under $7k (and worth it to me) - a crazy good price

Bike 2: 2008 HD Low Rider. 41k miles and near mint (someone really loved this one). Great color and paint is amazing. V&H exhaust.

$9k (and worth it to me)

I would be happy with either bike. The colors on both work for me. Not a fan of spokes, but is that really a good enough reason to pass up a really good price? Stock exhaust sounds muddy, but that can be replaced for much less then $2k and honestly I can live with spokes (plus the Super Glide has 24k less miles).

Thanks for the help!

Personally I think the Low Rider is a better looking bike. But my opinion and a buck will get you a McChicken! LOL

Exhaust should not be a factor as far as I'm concerned. Most switch them out anyway.

Miles are nearly irrelevant unless you plan to resell soon (sounds like you get bored easy, so...)

Miles are nearly irrelevant if you plan to modify much.

My advice? Look honestly at your future modification list and resale plan for both bikes and choose the one that costs you least in the end.

#2 and save yourself the hassle of modifying the bike. It sounds like #2 has everything you want. You're probably going to modify #1, after its all said and done it'll be about the same price.

I wouldn't care about the mileage for resale. You'll probably keep the bike for awhile I'm assuming. By the time you sell it, it's going to be a 15year old+ bike, and lets be honest, a difference of 20-30K at that year isn't going to be much of a deal breaker on the sell point.

I really appreciate the comments! I am looking for something more long term and plan on keeping this one for awhile.

this time of year I'm guessing you could do better. Just picked up a showroom condition 07 lowrider with under 6000 miles, loaded with options for the wife. I did a tally of the retail price for all the options and it came to over 7 large. Got it through a dealer for 10,000. Im guessing a private party sale this time of year for a comparable bike if you could find one would be 1000 bucks less.

The Super Glide is $6750 which is a pretty decent price. The spokes don't bother me enough where I would consider it a "must do". If I drop 300-500 on an exhaust and add forward controls, I am still talking a $1500 difference which is a decent chunk of change. I am just wondering if the Low Rider is worth that much extra.

The Low Rider is a much better handling bike than the Super Glide (I have both). They are 98% the same parts but like Chimps which share 98% of genes with humans there is a world of difference in those 2 per cent.

The better handling especially above 80 mph is in the rake and trail of the front suspension. Got ride of the Road Glide and have the Low Rider, Fat Bob and a Street Bob. All three of those are great Dyna's to have.

But just get the one that speaks to you.

If there was zero difference between the two there would be much less of a decision process. Info like this is invaluable! Now I really have to lean towards the Low Rider.

The cost is not as much of a factor; I would rather get a bike that I will ride for a years to come.
