Default 01 Dyna Primary Drain Plug Bolt/Thread Size
Does anyone have the measurements of the primary drain plug for 01 Dynas? I want to change it to a hex because I hate the damn allen. Thanks!

I looked in my parts manual and it didn’t give the size. However, it is a magnetic plug designed to catch and hold any small shavings and such.


If you still want to change it to a hex, just take it out when draining and go to the hardware store and match it up.

It's a tapered plug, not the same as the current hex drain plugs.

Not interchangable.

I'm not taking one from a newer bike, just going to the hardware store and replacing Allen with a hex

The threads are tapered, it's not a standard bolt or thread. You also need a magnet on the end of it to keep metal particles out of the clutch.
