I was playing around on the build your own harley on the hd website and came up with what for me would be a perfect street bob except for i like the rake on the wide glide. Does anybody know what the difference in the two bikes is and if the frame is different or just the triple trees. What other differences are there between the two bikes?

It is a different frame. Wide glide has a wider rear tire and thinner front tire, different rake, more chrome.
thanks...what i really liked about the street bob was the paint choices? do you know if i could just order the yellow and brown tank and fenders for the street bob and put on the wide glide. My dealer has a real good deal on a 2015 wide glide. Not sure if the tins are the same or not but prob could order them and still be under msrp. the brown seat and passenger pillion would put me over but i could do that later. Not sure what to do i really like the breakout(dont think i can afford now) but with the price for this wide glide it would be hard to pass up.
i tried looking on the parts list but for 2015 cant find wide glide or street bob listed not sure where else to look i found the link to it somewhere on here

no customs. that build a bear stuff on hd's site is bs. i am now moding my bike to be what i wanted it to be because we can't just order what we want (still angry on the inside)
i know i wish they would do it for more bikes right now its just one of the sportstes and the street bob. Why not do it for more popular bikes. Nothing against the street bob or sportster. but would like to have the paint and other options for all the bikes. I put the smaller bars, chrome motor, brown and yellow paint, and brown swing arm bag, brown seat on the street bob and it looks sick and only cost 15.5K. But the more i look at the wide glide the better i like it. I like the rake and front end and tires sizes better. Guess i need to look into custom paint but that's kinda ridiculous i have to do that when harley makes the paint job i want. I think it would be hard to find a custom paint job just like the yellow and brown one. SMH. I read that post earlier cvaria. You are the one with air force bike right? that is a sweet looking bike. I'm not digging the flames on the wide glide at all. I know a bunch of people were sticking up for them on that other thread. But really one color option without flames. I'm tired of black i want something different. Maybe should wait and see if they come up with something new for 2017.
guess i should just stop bitching and buy the wide glide and get it painted.
oops just looked that wasnt you with that air force bike guess you were just posting on there
sorry bout that.....also you black bike looks good. that im tired of black wasnt really a reference to your bike or anyone in particular. I like that you havent went and blacked it all out. I either want white or something brighter.

Pretty obvious why those options are only for the street bob. BEST BIKE in its class...
Kidding aside... it's probably cause it's the cheapest dyna. Build a harlet would be awesome. But then HD would lose money. I swear they intentionally mismatch parts so you can buy their stuff after. My street bob is all black and all of a sudden then slap on a chrome derby cover on the black primary cover. WTF... they make a black one for the low rider and they put that on the chrome primary cover on that bike... frustrating. It's all a game to make more money.
They already make enough money, but yeah i think your right that they do it on purpose. Should just go buy a victory and save a few thousand but those rear fenders are UGLY as F***. LOL Harley knows we will buy no matter what but its still bulls***. Guess i will just take whatever i can get the best deal on. Right now its between the breakout and wide glide. I know the breakout is gonna be more but if i can get approved credit wise for it i might go that route but if not ill just get a flamed out wide glide and get it painted the way i want it. Gotta wait a month or two trying to bump my credit up a few points and get a bigger down payment.
Actually, all new Dyna's use the same frame. The difference in rake is in the triples and the difference in rear tire width is in the swingarm and drive belt spacers.
