Default 3,500 miles on a fatbob

So I have a few guys wanting to ride south, 3,500miles, in mid-end March. I've never rode that far before but I'm ready for the adventure!
Now I know I need rain gear & new boots also the normal clothes needed.
A few things I have a question on though
1- what should I bring for tools? I have my swing arm bag I'll use for tools. Just not sure what I really need.
2- I want a saddle bag. Mainly for rain suit and back pack full of clothes. I like the single bad on the exhaust size. Just not sure how big I need for 3 changes of clothes, soap, etc
3- I want to wear my ear buds and iPod playing. Problem is it will die in 5 hours. We plan on riding 1500 miles in 2-3 day so 10-12 hour rides. I wanted to know if I could install a quick 12v plug?
Now for both bag and plug I want easy remove as I'll take all the stuff off once I'm at are destination and when I'm home. Just need the storage and power outlet to get there.

Used bags I'd be interested in as I'll used them once maybe twice a year.

And ideas? Or comments on this many miles on a non touring bike?

Lots of chargers out there now.I'm sure others will chime in on that. Don't forget you can always throw on a light backpack to carry some things. Ibuprofen and some percoset will be your friend at the end of a long day of riding. Don't over think things. You can always pick stuff up on the way. Oh,chap stick and an extra
pair of clear glasses.

You can get portable battery powered chargers fairly cheap at Walmart. If you have a Battery Tender port installed on your bike they make a USB port that plugs right in. I haven't got one yet but plan to. It's on their website.

Jumper is correct. You can get extensions and other adapters for the tender port (SAE). Super easy to also just add another set of wires to your battery. I added a port for my Gerbing heated gloves and jacket liner. I also have an extension to wire up my GPS. Look on Amazon.com for Powerlet products and RAM mounts are great too. Definitely want a tire plug kit (Stop & Go) and maybe a small compressed for motorcycles. I bring both. A siphon tube is not a bad idea either. I have a bag that mounts to my sissybar that holds a lot .

I have a Cruze Tools roll-up with a few upgrades of my choosing, ie an older Snap-on 8" adjustable, some torqx keys for controls, spark plug socket...
Bikes up here come from the dealer with a tender plug, handy to tap into for any 12V stuff
Wife and I have done 30 states and 5 provinces on our Dynas; we've tried the FLH's but they're too ponderous for our riding preferences. Did 3200 mile loop of WA, OR, CA, ID, MT last year with NO freeway and NO major cities.
Outdoors stores sell waterproof gear bags; they are great to fill and lash down to the bike. Like a small, sealed duffle bag...
Make sure your ergonomics are as good as can be and enjoy!

I'de deffinatelly keep that windshield on! The wind will beat you to death on long runs.Looks like your bike is still under warranty so you probably don't have to worry about tools.Harlet dealers are usually pretty good about fixin broke down scoots on the road because they have to pay for your lodging.Might consider a can of fix a flat.A travel container of TUCKS if you got assteroids!

Did 4950 miles in 8 days on a Sportster and the only problem was swamp ***! Hope you have cruise control or a throttle rocker! My old *** wrist gets sore after a few hundred.

Duh,

Shop around, you should be able to find some $50-100. Folks are using a clear vinyl sheet if fender protection is needed($10-20)

1. Tire repair kit, duct tape & zap straps in case u need to fix something on the fly.

Keep it simple. DRIFIT tops take very little room and they can be washed over night. Also great on hot days.

Buy a portable charger. I use this all the time and they are cheap these days.
