For trips, we got one of these Kuryakyn sissy bar bags. About 140 bucks, works great, holds a lot of stuff, goes on and off easily and quickly. An advantage over most side bags is that it can be taken off and carried like a suitcase. Also works well as carry-on baggage for air travel. Lots of positive reviews.

That looks pretty good, I don't have a sissy bar though :-D

I've got a really nice little waterproof bag that I used on the back of my sports bike.

the old straps weren't like this though. Now I've got a 2 up seat on my Dyna I might give it a try.

When I first got my Dyna I thought the bags didn't look good, but then started to grow on me. If I were to get any they would be the L-pros style, too me they look the best. However, my bike isn't a daily commuter either; it's a "wind therapy" stress relief. If I do get to that point where the wife wanted to start taking trips I would just trade for a Heritage, RK, or SG.

Prefer mine without bags, but I'm glad to have them when I need them.

This. The GF and I are riding to FL in March and Sturgis in August, so I bought a set of Viking Saddlebags and a Sissy Bar Bag so we can take what we need. Obviously take them off for commuting/daytrips, but for long trips they can be invaluable.

You should have something fabbed up, about 3 feet tall, with a skull or Maltese cross on it or somethin' like that.
Could have done with one the only time my wife ever rode on the back. :-D

I like my bags because they are the closest thing to ammo cans I could find.

I think HARD bags look out of place except on the Switch Back, but nice leather bags look at home in my eyes. they do have to flow with the bike though. Eventually I will get a set for my wide glide. For now I strap my Street Glide tour pack luggage to my wide glide luggage rack. Doesn't look bad, but looks out of place a bit.
