I'm looking at a 2001 white dyna with 6200 miles on it. It's supposed to be a police model, looks like a regular dyna but has a windshield and floor boards with heel/toe shifter on it. He says the transmission is geared lower in the first couple of gears and geared higher in fifth gear. Anybody know anything about these? I looked here and on google without much luck. Google says there is a police defender but it looks totally diffrent. Any idea how much to pay for it? he wants $8900 for it. check out the pixs. Thanks,Rick[/align]
Welcome. I have an 01 Dyna that I bought last year with 7800 miles on it. I have not regretted that purchase. As far as the tranny changes go I have never heard of that. It is a nice looking bike though and well worth the asking price (if it runs well).
From what I understand the police/defender model is called the FXDP.
It has heel/toe and footboards.
I saw a few dyna police models on ebay over the past few months.
Allwere white dyna's with the footboard and shifter kit.
Found a black one currently on ebay:
Lotsa pics.
ah, the fxdp. i bought my 02 with 47,000 on it for 7900 so it sounds like a deal. heres the first pic from march. put 100 miles on it and stripped it to the frame. should be done by next weekend
