That's one of the options I'm considering. At first I didn't think I would run anything back there, but now I'm thinking otherwise. I'll probably start chopping up the stock fender and see what I can come up with. There won't be much of it left when I'm done, but it's all scratched up from the POs pillion, luggage rack, tie-downs, etc. I don't think it's gonna be a great loss to the community if there's one less beat up bobtail fender.
A few years back I remember a thread on a Nightster that had the speedometer frenched into the tank. Seems like an idea that would work with this bike.
That's pretty cool! I'm fairly well set on the motoscope mini though. It offers so much more information in a tiny package that I can recess into the top triple tree. kinda spendy, but I think it's worth it.
Thanks, bro. And I agree. It needs something back there. Longer term, if I can find a good lithium battery and shrink down the boxes under the seat it might look fine without a fender butO think it still needs something there to balance out that huge electrical brick.

I'm trying to decide the best way to get a dual disc front end on it. I'm leaning toward a late model 49mm front end.
A 150+ front tire and 16" spoked wheel.
Maybe some 3° raked cups for the neck.
Custom riserless (probably) low bars. Drag style or similar.
All new hand controls. Probably Motogadget microswitches. Not sure about levers. Something minimalist.
New grips. Maybe with an internal throttle. If not, single cable.
New mirrors. Probably JM Cones. Maybe Schooners.
New cables.
New calipers and floating rotors.
Probably a custom tank and consolye delete.
Motoscope mini.
Black rocker covers, I think. I keep going back and forth in my head.
Still want to squeeze the 200 in the back. If possible, without spacing out the primary.
Nice! I'll have to go take a look at what mirrors JM Cones and Schooners have to offer. I too am going back and forth about wrinkle black top rocker covers.
Edit: maybe I'll cover the current ones with black tape to visualize it.
