I agree that dealers are too pricey...and that there are other options like e-bay etc.
I would be ashamed to say how much HD gear the wife and I have......if we had paid full price for a fair portion of it....the total dealer/retail cost would be utterly absurd.
We have always watched for sales/package deals/promotions particularly at our local dealers which are easy to keep tabs on and only buy at dealers we visit when they have sales going on.
I have bought $120 cordura jackets for $50 each and $600 jackets for $375 each.....a bit of $ still but generally worth it in the long run......if you can be patient.
We just don't buy unless there is a sale...denim jacket I got retailed at $115 I think, and I found it on sale in Alabama for $50.
I bought an Icon Motorsports Strong Arm jacket. It is denim with leather sleeves. It comes with removable hard elbow and shoulder pads along with some soft back padding and a zip out thermal liner. The jacket is awesome. It has zipered intake and exhaust ports and is very confortable. To get a comparible HD jacket it would cost alot more. I had a HD skull patch sewn on the back and on the front. It retails for $215, but I caught a sale from Cycle Gear and got one for $140. http://www.rideicon.com/

Paid 90 bucks for mine at the stealer.
I wouldn't have spent so much for a denim jacket but it is nice quality and I used to wear Levi jackets and those puppies run 78 bucks, even at the "outlet" store near me. Don't remember them costing that much in high school. [:@]
I also paid to much based on the fact that, for some reason it is almost impossible to find a good denim jacket at any of the stores around here. I guess they are'nt quite as in style as they were back in the 70's and 80's.
I got this jacket from Cabela's and it is virtually identical to the HD jean jacket (right down to the large inside pockets) that I have. I had an HD patch sewn on the back and unless you look at the Cabela's tag, you'd never know it isn't an HD jacket.

Same as the HD jacket. I took a medium in both and they fit identically.
