Lost the rubber frame bumper off my new Low Rider already! New one coming tomorrow. Any "trick" to installing this thing? I know it's kinda spring loaded, but does it just snap on the frame rail?
It goes on the frame tube as far back as you can push it, up against the weld at the rear. The longer portion is positioned upward, you sort of snap it in place around the frame tube. It helps if it's warm, that little bugger is stiff. From there sit on the bike and raise the jiffy and test how the jiffy hits the face of the bumper, the face of the bumper will be rotated downward to catch the jiffy solidly. Reach down with the jiffy up and you'll feel how the jiffy is contacting the face of the bumper, rotate the bumper so it contacts solidly.
I've lost my third one. Does anyone make one that is more "permanent"?
I don't recall seeing one off-hand. Are you knocking it loose in some way? If you use a lift you can easily knock them off or loose. The only lift that will clear everything on the Dyna is a J&S. Is the jiffy bumper angled so the jiffy solidly hits it when the jiffy comes up? Having the bumper mis-aligned with the jiffy smacking in to it could knock it loose, too; then a bit of road vibration and it falls off...

The first one I lost I know I scraped it and that is what caused it. The other....??
I may have knocked it loose a bit last time I had it up on a lift but that's been awhile. Of course it could have worked it's way off through time after the jack knocked it loose.
