I live in a hot climate, during the summer with ambient temps of 105+ every day. Even now with outdoor temps mid 80's my heads get to 300 degrees often. I added a fan assisted Jag, it's great but I'm now supplementing with a ward's fan system. I have threads on each if you'd like to check them out. Each serves a great purpose but as an example yesterday alone without the fans on head temp got to 295 or so with a 15 mile ride with average traffic and stops. Same ride headed opposite direction with fans and oil cooler head temps never went beyond 245. Worth every freaking penny for peace of mind
I use fans on my cylinder heads in lieu of an oil cooler. I believe it has a greater effect on engine cooling than temporarily allowing the oil to turbulate in an external cooler for a little while. I use Wards fans but there are several manufacturers.
The bonus is that it works even when you're stopped and they never leak or seep oil
